Snapdragon 8Gen4+300W fast charging+1.5K iso-depth quad-curved screen, the faste

Does anyone else feel this way? Over the past year or so, it seems that all manufacturers have become somewhat conservative in terms of charging speeds, with 120W being the new limit. Compared to the past, this is actually a bit of a regression. As early as October 2022, the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition was equipped with a 210W fast charger, which could charge from 0% to 100% in just 9 minutes. And last August, Realme even released the Realme GT5, which supports 240W fast charging, with a full charge also taking less than 10 minutes.

What is the purpose of such fast charging speeds? We can imagine a scenario where we need to go out urgently, and in such cases, the quick charging capability of our phone becomes particularly important. It's much more secure to go out with a fully charged phone, without any anxiety about battery life!

The development of phone charging speeds has stagnated for so long, but a new breakthrough is imminent, and the manufacturer that is stepping up is still Realme.

This month, Realme will release its brand new fast charging technology, with a maximum charging power of 300W, which is the fastest charging speed in the history of mobile phones. In just a few months, we will actually see the Realme flagship phone equipped with 300W fast charging, which is the Realme GT7 Pro. In fact, quite a bit of configuration information about this phone has already been exposed, so let's take a look.

Firstly, in terms of performance, the Realme GT7 Pro will adopt a combination of Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor, LPDDR5X memory, and UFS 4.0 storage. Its performance will undoubtedly reach a new height, surpassing all flagship phones currently on sale.

Regarding the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor, it will be released between October 21st and 23rd, 2024. The Realme GT7 Pro will be one of the first flagship phones to be equipped with this chip. The benchmark scores of the engineering machine have already been exposed. In the Geekbench 6 CPU test, it scored 2884 points in single-core and 8840 points in multi-core. According to past experience, the scores of mass-produced machines are usually much higher than those of engineering machines. Therefore, in terms of CPU performance, compared to the currently available Snapdragon 8 Gen3, the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 will have a significant improvement. In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 also adopts a brand new Adreno 830 GPU, and the expected performance will also be greatly improved.

In terms of the screen, there is a regrettable point that the Realme GT7 Pro will not adopt a flat screen form, but instead, it will be replaced by a 1.5K resolution equal-depth four-curved screen. Since the Huawei Mate 60 Pro first launched this screen form, major flagships have followed suit. Compared to a flat screen, this screen can provide a smoother gesture operation experience, while also having a visual experience close to that of a flat screen. It is estimated that it will become the standard configuration for high-end flagships in the future.

However, personally, I still prefer a pure flat screen. I wonder what everyone else's preferences are?

In terms of photography, it has been confirmed that the Realme GT7 Pro will adopt a combination of a large bottom main camera and a high-quality telephoto camera. Do you think its photography will be greatly improved compared to the currently available Realme GT5 Pro? In fact, the answer is: no!

From the currently exposed information, its main camera may still be the LYT808 with a bottom of 1/1.4 inches. In fact, the quality of this CMOS is quite good, but there is still a gap compared to the OV50H sensor commonly used by first-line manufacturers. In addition, it can also be determined that this telephoto uses the IMX882 sensor with a bottom of 1/2 inches, supporting 3x optical zoom, and the image quality of the distant scenery is quite good. However, it should be noted that the currently available Realme GT5 Pro uses the IMX890 telephoto with a bottom of 1/1.56 inches, and the image quality is even better. Many may have a feeling that the flagship smartphones released in 2024 have seen significant improvements in their photography capabilities compared to their predecessors. Therefore, for the next generation of new products, everyone should also accept the reality that there may not be a substantial enhancement in photography.

As for battery life and charging, the Realme GT7 Pro will come in two versions. The first one will feature a 300W fast-charging version, which is estimated to have a battery capacity below 5000mAh. The second version will have a large-capacity battery of over 6000mAh, and its charging speed will only be in the hundreds of watts. However, for most users, this speed is still considered fast enough.

In other aspects, this phone will also support high-end configurations such as IP69 dust and water resistance and single-point ultrasonic under-display fingerprint technology.

Considering all aspects, the Realme GT7 Pro is expected to have a very strong product power. And based on Realme's consistent pricing style, I believe its starting price will likely be under 4000 yuan. Therefore, users who are currently considering the Realme GT5 Pro can also wait for the release of the Realme GT7 Pro before making a decision.

Among the currently available Realme phones, the Realme GT5 Pro may not be very worth buying anymore, as its starting price remains above 3200 yuan. On the other hand, the mid-range Realme GT6 is still quite worth considering, as it should not be affected by the Realme GT7 Pro.
